Silicon Carbide Rollers Overview

Silicon carbide rollers are a new type of ceramic roller used in roller kilns, and they are an essential component in these kilns. Their primary function is to transport ceramic or glass products.

The application of rollers requires the material to have both high-temperature resistance and oxidation resistance, along with excellent thermal performance.

Additionally, the rollers must maintain minimal deformation under their own weight and the load of the products during continuous operation in high-temperature environments. This ensures that products move along the roller kiln in a straight line without malfunction.

RBSiC is the all-round choice for roller kilns with low porosity and strong MOR; SSiC targets highest temperature and purity; NSiC balances oxidation resistance and cost at mid-to-high temperatures. We’ll select by load, temp, atmosphere and cleanliness.

Typical guidance: RBSiC ≈1350 °C, NSiC ≈1450 °C, ReSiC ≈1650 °C; SSiC solutions are used in kilns operating above ~1500 °C. Actual limit depends on load, speed and atmosphere.
Yes. Hollow rollers reduce mass and thermal inertia, improving energy use and lowering sag. Wall thickness is sized to load and span.
