Silicon Carbide Nozzles

Silicon Carbide Nozzles

High-performance SSiC and RBSiC nozzles engineered for abrasive blasting, FGD desulfurization spray systems, and kiln/furnace burners. Outstanding wear resistance, high-temperature stability and corrosion resistance deliver longer service life and stable flow.

Silicon Carbide Burner Nozzle Overview

Silicon Carbide Nozzles

Ceramic nozzles are key components in flue gas desulfurization and dust removal systems for thermal power plants and large boilers. Silicon carbide (SiC) ceramic nozzles are widely used in power plant desulfurization applications. The reaction-bonded SiC desulfurization and dust removal nozzles offer excellent properties including high strength, high hardness, strong corrosion resistance, extreme wear resistance, and high-temperature endurance. These nozzles effectively remove sulfur dioxide (SO₂) and other pollutants from flue gases.

Additionally, the service life of SiC ceramic is 3 to 5 times longer than that of alumina ceramics and is comparable to hard alloys, making it a reliable substitute for cemented carbide—especially in demanding conditions such as handheld spray guns.

FAQ

1) SSiC or RBSiC — how should I choose?
Pick SSiC for the highest strength, hardness and max temperature; choose RBSiC/SiSiC for excellent overall performance and cost efficiency in general industrial duty.
1-1/4″ NPSM is widely used for long-Venturi blasting nozzles; adapters are available.
Common IDs are 3/16″, 1/4″, 5/16″, 3/8″, 1/2″; select based on compressor flow and hose size.
For ≥3/8″ bores, ensure 1-1/4″ valves and piping to maintain pressure; account for wear increasing air demand.
Full-cone spiral nozzles are offered in 60°, 90°, 120°, 150° and 170° with threaded or flanged connections from 1/8″ to 4″.
SiSiC/RBSiC is commonly used below ~1350 °C; for higher hot-face temperatures consider SSiC/RSiC designs to ~1600–1650 °C.
SiC excels in chemical/thermal resistance and good wear; boron carbide is lighter and often lasts longer in pure abrasive service, but at higher cost. For hot/corrosive media, SiC is favored.
Yes. Polymer or rubber jackets reduce impact damage and make handling easier.
We can provide flow curves and pattern visuals for FGD and process nozzles; blasting nozzles can be air-flow checked per orifice size and wear state.
Prototype 1 pc orders supported; standard models ship fast, custom geometries typically 1–3 weeks depending on tooling and inspection.
Application, media, temperature, pressure, flow target; for blasting: orifice and thread; for FGD: spray angle, pipe size and pattern; for burner: bore, flange and temperature profile.
