Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers for B2B buyers and engineers: SiC materials, customization, tolerances, lead time, QC, shipping, and typical applications.
Need a fast answer?
Send your drawing or part requirements. We typically respond with engineering feedback and a quotation request list.
- Custom from drawings / samples
- Small-batch supported
- Export-ready documents
What silicon carbide materials do you offer (SSiC, RBSiC/SiSiC, RSIC)?
ZIRSEC supplies pressureless sintered SiC (SSiC), reaction-bonded SiC (RBSiC/SiSiC), and recrystallized SiC (RSIC). We recommend the grade based on corrosion, temperature, wear and machining requirements, so you get the best lifecycle value instead of guessing.
How do I choose between SSiC and RBSiC for my application?
SSiC is commonly selected for stronger chemical resistance and high-temperature stability, while RBSiC is often chosen for excellent overall performance and cost efficiency in many industrial parts. Share your media, temperature and wear conditions and Zirsec will recommend the right grade.
Can you manufacture custom SiC parts from drawings or samples?
Yes. Zirsec supports custom silicon carbide ceramic parts from drawings (PDF/DWG/STEP) or physical samples. We can assist with drawing review, manufacturability feedback and process route selection to reduce iteration time.
What tolerances and machining capability can you support?
We support standard industrial tolerances and precision machining for critical features upon drawing review. For tight-tolerance projects, Zirsec can align on inspection methods and key control dimensions before sampling to avoid surprises.
Can you provide coatings or special surface treatment?
Yes. Zirsec can support coating reinforcement options such as oxidation-resistant or acid-resistant solutions for specific applications. Provide the operating atmosphere and media details and we will confirm suitability.
Do you provide COA and dimensional inspection reports?
Yes. We can provide COA, dimensional inspection reports and project-specific documentation based on your requirements. If you need additional documents for import or internal QA, list them in your RFQ.
How do you ensure consistent quality for repeat orders?
Zirsec controls the production chain from material preparation to sintering and precision machining. For repeat orders, we lock key parameters and inspection items to keep performance stable across batches.
What is your typical sample and production lead time?
Many samples can be delivered within 3–7 days when feasible, and small-batch orders often ship within about 7 days. Lead time depends on material grade, complexity and machining steps, so send your drawing for a confirmed schedule.
Do you ship internationally and support export packaging?
Yes. Zirsec supports international shipping and can provide export-ready packaging and documentation. Tell us your destination country and preferred logistics terms and we will propose options.
Which industries and applications are best suited for SiC ceramics?
SiC ceramics are ideal for high-temperature furnaces, chemical processing, corrosive fluid handling and wear-resistant components. Common parts include seal rings, sleeves, liners, rollers, tubes, plates and nozzles.
How do I specify SiC parts for pumps (seal rings, sleeves, bearings)?
Provide the pump model or assembly drawing, media chemistry, temperature range, particle content and required tolerances. Zirsec can recommend a suitable SiC grade and confirm critical dimensions and surface finish requirements.
What is your MOQ and do you support prototypes?
We support prototypes and small batches. MOQ depends on geometry and process route; share your drawings and we will confirm a practical MOQ and lead time quickly.
What information should I include in an RFQ to get a fast quote?
Include part drawings (or dimensions), material preference (if any), quantity, tolerance requirements, application conditions and delivery destination. If you have photos of the current part failure mode, attach them for faster engineering feedback.
