SISIC Beam Overview

Silicon carbide beams, also known as reaction bonded square beams, special-shaped beams, or support columns, are used as load-bearing structures in tunnel kilns, shuttle kilns, and roller kilns.

They offer excellent high-temperature strength, thermal shock resistance, and oxidation resistance.

Durable and deformation-free over time, they are ideal for sanitary and electrical ceramics, helping reduce energy use without adding kiln car weight.

1) RBSiC vs NSiC vs ReSiC vs SSiC: how to choose?
RBSiC is the all-round choice with very low porosity and strong MOR; NSiC offers good oxidation resistance and cost balance; ReSiC targets the highest temperature window; SSiC provides dense, low-porosity beams for severe or purity-critical service. We select by temperature, span/load, atmosphere, and cleanliness.
Typical guidance: RBSiC ≈1350 °C, NSiC ≈1450 °C, SSiC ≈1600 °C, ReSiC ≈1650 °C. Actual limit depends on loading, span and atmosphere.

Yes. Hollow profiles reduce mass and thermal inertia, lowering sag and energy use. Wall thickness is sized to span and load.

Typical production control is ≤1.5 mm per meter. We gauge straightness/run-out across the full length prior to shipment.
