SIC Membrane Overview

Silicon carbide ceramic membrane is sintered under high temperature conditions using recrystallization technology. Its porous support layer, transition layer, and membrane layer are all made of silicon carbide materials, and the filtration accuracy is microfiltration and ultrafiltration.

Sic membrane has the characteristics of corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, strong hydrophilicity, etc. It can continuously remove particles, oil droplets, emulsions, and suspended solids at high flux, thereby providing high-quality liquid filtration.

1) What pore sizes do you supply?
Common MF cut-offs include ~0.25, 0.6, 1.0 and 3–4 µm. Sub-micron grades (e.g., 20–1000 nm) are available for tighter separations.
Most crossflow systems operate below 3 bar TMP for stable flux; design limit up to 10 bar depending on module and housing rating.
Yes. SiC membranes tolerate pH 0–14 and unlimited free chlorine. Oxidants such as hypochlorite and ozone are acceptable within module limits.
Yes, especially with coarser MF grades. Plan frequent backwash/backpulse and differential-pressure management for TSS spikes.
Use oxidants (NaOCl), caustic (NaOH), acids (HCl/HNO₃), and compatible solvents as needed. SiC supports aggressive CIP compared to oxide ceramics and polymers.
The SiC material tolerates very high temperatures in dry conditions; in wet operation, the module housing, seals and feed determine allowable temperature. We will set limits per your module BOM.
Yes. Typical ODs 25–41 mm with 2–17 channels, and high-area 40 mm with 37 channels. Single-channel lab elements also available.

Common element lengths are 305–400 mm for pilots and up to ~1000–1200 mm for production multi-channel tubes, depending on OD and channel count.
